“Activate aims to spark a love of science from the start of Key Stage 3 and build students up towards GCSE. Activate Student Book 1 is split into distinct Biology, Chemistry and Physics units. Working Scientifically activities are woven throughout as well as having a full chapter to introduce skills like recording, analysing and evaluating data. Each unit opens with a reminder of what has been covered at Key Stage 2, so students can make links to what they know already. Picture Puzzlers are a great way to grab students’ attention while maths and literacy skills activities are clearly labelled.”
